Message from the President

Happy Spring

Well, even though it is Spring, it really does not feel or look like it. But, believe it or not, it is here and with spring comes all things fresh and new, such as new plants rising out of the ground, the grass going from brown to a fresh pretty green.

We had such a great 1st quarter already. It has been filled with great camaraderie and service by our members, new and seasoned. We have added a good number of new members this first quarter. Please take time to welcome Laura Olsen, Victoria Jordan (Secretary), Steve Sierra (Local Director), Kris Green, Bill Bloom, Michele Tryon, Chris Tryon, Kerry, Tryon, Luke LeRose, Erika Lucik, and John Tromp to our Family as of the end of the quarter. As for April we are already off to an AWESOME start. Please also welcome Nick Rutz, Anthony Russo, Jacqueline Hernandez, Patricia Clay, and Carrie Brandolino to our family.

We have done so many things together as a chapter. We have had CPG/Parliamentary Training from Mary Ann Holler, Super 7 training by Tony Symoniak, we hosted a Region Executive Board meeting, had a booth at the Business Expo where we made many new contacts, then painted faces at the Family Faire.

Ok, so now let’s look ahead. We have so many great projects planned such as a Best Pizza Contest, a garage sale that is going to proceed Relay for Life and St. Jude’s, Multi-Chamber BAH (Business after hours), Presentation from trainer/speaker Matt Booth, Blood Drive, Sunday Fun Day, Rib Cook Off, Summer Concert, Haunted House kick off party, a social at a Jackhammers game, an All Ages Spelling Bee, and so much more. If you have any ideas for a project please present it at our board meeting. We are also hosting the 1st Trimester Regional Dinner and Awards.

So, with all of that being said, it is a great time to join and if you have not joined yet then jump in, or get a friend or family member to join. I am 100% sure that we can all say we are proud to be part of the Frankfort Area Jaycees!!!!!

We will shine in 2009,

I once again have fulfilled the requirement of writing 50,000 words in a month and calling it a novel. The next step in this process is to clean it up. Once this process is complete you can expect to see it available for your read pleasure.
